Welcome! My name is Heather vonReichbauer and I am a choreographer and dance educator living in Houston, TX. I am an experienced choreographer in the fields of concert dance and musical theater. I am a voracious reader and draw a lot of inspiration from the large amounts of books, articles, and crazy internet stories that I consume on a daily basis.
This has been an busy and creative time for me since finishing my Artist in Residence with Dance Source Houston in June.
I just finished my largest project since moving to Houston, an evening length work inspired by the life and work of Edgar Allan Poe. Madness, Memories, and Woe was one of the most rewarding and exhausting project of my career and worth every second! In addition to my Poe project, I also revived an old work this fall at Mind the Gap entitled, Good Feet, Long Hair, and other words of wisdom..
In May, I will wrap up my final performance of the season at Jones Hall as part of the Performance Prelude series. I am excited to present excerpts from Madness, Memories, and Woe prior to the Ira Glass performance.
